Raindrops

How do you capture the feeling of watching raindrops falling onto a puddle?

I started by researching the physics of droplets hitting the water and deconstructed its components: ripples, dissipation, and intensity. I then translated those components into shapes, velocity, stroke weight, and opacity in processing. After getting the design of a single droplet down, I focused on creating a system of random droplets with Perlin noise.
